The Indoor Youth Program will begin on January 15, 2026 and run through March 26, 2026.  The program is designed to teach basic shooting skills for girls and boys ages 10 to 17.  The first meeting we will cover safety, rifle parts and shooting principals: (Sighting-in, correct breathing and positions).  Firing points will be assigned and shooters will shoot on their assigned targets.  There also will be a refresher safety briefing prior to each remaining session.  SAFETY FIRST!

 

The sessions are held at the club Indoor Archery Range and will run from 7pm Thursday evenings until approximately 9pm.  The club has rifles and ammunition.  The fee for a rifle and ammunition will be $4.00 for the first relay and $3.00 for a second relay.  If you do not need a rifle, the fee is $3.00 for the first relay and $2.00 for the second relay.  Please note: second relays will be fired only if everyone has fired at least one relay.  You may bring your own rifle and ammo if desired but it is not necessary.  Rifles will be assigned to each youth each night if necessary.

 

A few things to note:

1.  The indoor range will be a bit cold, please bring a sweatshirt, light coat or both for your comfort.

2. The club has eye and ear protection: safety glasses, ear plugs and over the ear muffs, however if you have your own, please bring them.  Prescription glasses are OK.

3.  Consider the weather before venturing out, if the roads are bad, check the web-site for information regarding the evening’s activities.  I will try to have a notice on the club web site if there is a cancellation.

4.  Adults are welcome to shoot AFTER the youth for a small fee.

​

5.  Please DO NOT leave your child; we need an adult for each youth.  Adults are encouraged to watch.

​

6.  Any rifle brought into the building must be unloaded and cased.
